LOUIS STOKES ALLIANCES FOR MINORITY PARTICIPATION (LSAMP) PROGRAM

Program Description

The goal of the LSAMP program (NSF HRD-1302873) is to increase the participation of individuals who have faced social, educational, or economic barriers to careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). The CSUEB LSAMP program is focused on increasing graduate school preparedness and readiness for all LSAMP participants with a major emphasis on providing participants with hands-on research experiences.

ELIGIBILITY Criteria for CSU- LSAMP scholars: 

  • Be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Be an individual who has faced or faces social, educational, or economic barriers to careers in STEM.
  • Discipline GPA should be 2.5 or higher
  • Be engaged in research
  • Be able to attend ALL LSAMP events in-person
  • Be enrolled at a participating campus in an undergraduate major in STEM discipline or have expressed an interest in pursuing a STEM baccalaureate degree. Attached are a list of majors provided by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), that will fall under the STEM category.
  • We strongly encourage freshman, sophomores, and transfer students to apply!

  1. If you believe that you are eligible (see above), please COMPLETE application. 
  2. You will receive an e-mail COPY of your responses.
  3. Applicants will be accepted on a rolling basis until the program is filled.
  4. Campus coordindator will review applications and e-mail status of applications on: August 15th, September 5th, Sept. 26th, 2024
  5. SAVE the DATE:

    • Fridays, Oct. 4 from 10 am-noon OR
    • Oct. 11 from noon-2 pm for an IN-PERSON, on campus orientation.
      • ALL accepted applicants are REQUIRED to attend ONE IN PERSON orientation.
      • RSVP by compliting  form.
