According to a press release from the CSU, gifts were received from more than 268,000 individual donors and are designated for current programs, endowments and capital projects at various CSU campuses. 

“This record-setting philanthropic support represents a forward-thinking investment in the CSU’s capacity to drive California toward its brightest future and to create positive change in our communities,” CSU Chancellor Timothy P. White said in a statement. “I offer my deepest thanks to our generous and visionary donors who recognize the life-changing opportunities provided by a CSU degree.”

Programming funded by the CSU through philanthropy includes the launch of a new “Aspiring Teacher Scholarship, which will provide more than 100 students at Fresno State and CSU Bakersfield to help address the shortage of bilingual teachers in the Central Valley.
